Mr. CHHEAV Narath, Managing Director of CoGen HR, Management Academy and Consulting Group, and EuroCham Chairman of HR Committee, attended the meeting between EuroCham Leadership, joined by H.E. Igor Driesmans, Ambassador of the EU to Cambodia, and Prime Minister HUN Manet and his team on September 19, 2024, at the Peace Palace.
EuroCham Chairman Tassilo Brinzer and Prime Minister Hun Manet discussed reform policy, increasing FDI from Europe, and Cambodia's path to becoming a high-income country by 2050. Mr. Brinzer emphasized the need for assistance in the tourism sector and suggested visa-free travel for digital nomads. He also suggested a task force to streamline customs procedures to encourage more trade flow. Prime Minister Hun Manet brought up the government's prioritization of engaging with the private sector, including facilitating meetings between EuroCham and the Council for the Development of Cambodia and creating new SOPs for tax audits. He acknowledged that Cambodia is evolving and reforms will take time to make significant changes. Still, he is committed to following through and putting Cambodia in the best position for long-term success as a strong regional and international player.
